Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to on-site maintenance teams in European hotels to maintain properties to the highest standard
• Proactively review citizen M systems such as BMS, Room Controls, Elevator Controls and associated operational, energy and sustainability dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation and upgrade projects.
• Work with key stakeholders to develop and/or procure tools in support of operational and sustainability goals.
• Oversee technical and MEP related incident management, minimizing room outages and operational disruptions across all European hotels.
• Supports to optimize in a continuous process the multi-year maintenance planning of of all technical installations in order to ensure the maximum lifetime of these installations
• Assumes responsibility for operational readiness. Proactively works with on-site maintenance teams and external service suppliers to minimize the failures
• Supports with on-site maintenance teams and external service suppliers to set up the maintenance plans, work scheme and physical risk implementation plans
• Ensures that the on-site maintenance teams and external service suppliers training is properly developed and delivered
• Assists in the development of site Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures
• Performs periodic site inspections and reports any construction issues uncovered or conditions that could affect the operational reliability of the facility.
• Build and maintain solid relationships with external contractors, with an emphasis on meeting service level agreements within established KPIs
• Supports the growth and development of a sustainable strategy in collaboration with the Environmental manager (ESG team)
• Assumes responsibility for Green building certificate improvements - energy sections
• Develop the technical requirements for efficiency projects that come on the Pathway to Net Zero"
• Provides feedback on lessons learned and quality assurance faced in operations in order to optimize new developments/projects
• Assures hotel compliance with all legal governmental requirements and each property complies with relevant health and safety legislation
• Supports to optimize the company brand standards

Qualifications / skills

• Proven work experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, with hotel experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of BMS and building control solutions
• Demonstrable experience of building energy management and energy reduction initiatives
• Able to work in a team environment. Even-tempered and able to work through conflict with others
• Flexible and willing to consider others' ideas
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
• Expert knowledge of critical facility operational requirements
• Strong understanding of the commissioning process and requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively in all areas of the organization and to build the necessary relationships with various stakeholders
• Ability to make clear agreements and negotiate with suppliers and other third parties
• Must be guest service focused and understand the expectations of hospitality demands
• Knowledge of country specific health and safety legislation and compliance requirements is advantageous (safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals)
• This position requires travel to several different European hotels roughly 25% of the time
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English and preferable another European language
