Senior Manager Sustainability

Te Tūranga | The role:
Advise and support the business to help achieve ASB's environmental and social (E&S) objectives, including advising on ASB's strategy.

Support the Head of Sustainability and wider sustainability team in the delivery of ASB's sustainability agenda, including:
- managing specific projects and initiatives
- providing specialist support to Business Units on sustainability matters
- contributing to annual reporting, sustainability and climate reporting and other stakeholder communications.
- Managing and supporting ASB's environmental and social (E&S) programmes of work, with a particular focus on social and natural capital impacts and objectives.
- Providing specialist expertise to ASB BUs as needed, such as to inform product development, internal guidance, and advice on E&S risk and policy.
- Ensuring ASB meets the environmental and social commitments it has signed up to, articulated in ASB's E&S policy and framework.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and suppliers.
This role will suit a highly skilled, passionate and driven professional who has proven experience in Corporate Social Responsibility / sustainability, ideally within a large, complex environment. To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of:
- Ability to influence across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the sustainability landscape including international frameworks, technical standards and reporting regimes relevant to the financial sector
- Strong external network with a focus on staying abreast of innovations and developments relevant to ASB.
- A future focus, helping the business understand not just what it needs to be thinking about today, but also what is coming.
- Excellent planning and management skills and an eye for detail.
- Credibility and authenticity when presenting to key senior internal and external stakeholders; ability to tailor communications to needs of the audience.
