Telenor Amp is a newly established business area within Telenor, which history spans over 165 years. Telenor has a unique position in the Nordics, with a wide range of services and over 10 million customers.

Telenor Amp invests in and builds Nordic high-growth companies together with partners, in segments where Telenor can make a difference as an owner. Telenor Amp is Telenor’s spearhead when it comes to investments and partnerships adjacent to Telenor's core business. Over time, the company has already built a significant position within key business areas, such as telco software, Io T and cyber security, which are complementary to and adjacent to Telenor’s core business. Telenor Amp is an active owner, and during 2023 Telenor Satellite and Working Group Two were divested to Space Norway and Cisco for total enterprise value of over NOK 4 billion.

Today, Telenor Amp manages a portfolio of 19 companies valued at more than NOK 10 billion with an aggregated EBITDA of over NOK 1 billion (2023). We continuously strive to invest, refine and renew this portfolio together with partners, co-investors and our management teams. The aim in the long term is to build successful companies that will be decisive for Telenor's growth and value in the future.

Role and responsibility

As an investment manager your main goal will be to secure maximum value creation for Telenor through actively managing a portfolio of independent companies and identifying and executing investments with strong value potential. You will have the opportunity to work with transactions, participate in boards of directors and develop investment and portfolio strategies together with the Telenor Amp team.

Your role will be to leverage and enhance your network to originate investment opportunities by building trusted relationships with the people behind the target businesses/partnerships and develop opportunities between portfolio companies and Telenor core business. You will lead due diligence efforts on prospective investments with support from internal and external experts, and negotiations of transaction documentation. You will implement value creation strategies with management teams, working through boards of directors. You will also be driving divestment processes.

Preferred experience and qualifications:

You have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience with private investment transactions (acquisitions, equity investments, structured debt, divestments) and a demonstrated track record of leading successful transactions leveraging an internal investment team and advisors.

You have knowledge of and/or have worked closely with or within the Nordic Private Equity or Venture Capital ecosystems, with exposure to portfolio investment management.

You have a successful track record of identifying and leading value accretive investments.

You have a network and relationships with founders, CEOs and other investment professionals.

Business fluency in written and spoken English is required. Ability to understand a Scandinavian language is preferred, but not essential.

MSc in Business/ Economics, Engineering/ Natural Sciences, or another quantitative field.
