The Production Manager will plan, coordinate, and oversee all activities in our production facilities, ensuring development and implementation of efficient manufacturing and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization and market.
The role reports to: SVP Manufacturing Europe
Mission
- Develop, set and achieve yearly production goals as part of the site- and business goals and in line with the site strategic posture.
- A strong people leader who inspires and guides others towards identifying and achieving vision and goals and to provide purpose and direction.
- Driver of continuous improvement.
- Organize, and continuously improve, production processes and activities by following Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Inspire and strive to build a culture focused on high Quality and HSSE standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for securing that all interfaces related to this role are identified and the corresponding processes to handle them are established and optimized
- Adherence to production budget and realize yearly improvement
- Adherence to production planning, BOM and realize yearly improvement
- Ensure that the safety, quality and productivity requirements are met or exceeded
- Provide direction, development and leadership to the team
- Work with peers in a constructive and cooperative way to resolve issues in working with production lines
- Maintain and improve ERP and align with business processes
- Providing work procedures & instructions/ Standard Work Specifications (SWS) that ensure safe and efficient execution of all tasks
- Develop long term and short-term TIP (Tactical Improvement Plan) for production department and integrate into the year Site TIP, including department development & recruitment, productivity, quality, efficiency and HSSE improvement.
- Ensure adherence to all site procedures, work instructions and other regulations and guidelines. Walk the talk.
- Process owner of performance management in production: plan, review and actions.
- Identify training needs and ensure correct competence and proper training is developed and provided
- Ensure high level of communication with Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Production to improve process of Quality Control
- Accountabilities
- Adherence to budget and to production schedule and BOM
- Availability and utilization of production lines; driving reduction of gap between planned and actual output.
- Execution of the primary work processes and the foundations (performance mgt, 5S, SWS) in production
Qualifications, education and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Technician degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited college in combination with minimum 3+ years of experience in equivalent field
- Hands on experience with production, tooling and tolerances
- Skills within Lean and 5S
- Competence from ERP system
- Competent in office programs
- Flexible and solution oriented
