Reporting to the Technical Product Lead – Dolphin Next Gen, the Systems Engineer is responsible for system-level architecture, detailed technical specification, analysis and troubleshooting, and providing technical guidance for the Technical and Project (including Service), Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams. Primary job location will be Bergen.
Role reports to: Technical Product Lead
Responsibilities
- Hands-on troubleshooting of systems/modules/circuit boards (and performing tests as necessary to support diagnosis).
- Interface with the Manufacturing and Service team to investigate field failures via data collection and analysis leading to the root cause. (incl. creation of test jigs as needed to support these investigations).
- Management and communication of technical risks & reporting.
- Maintenance and creation of technical documentation.
- Ownership and maintenance of system and subsystem requirements and interfaces.
- Contribute to the development of the core BMS algorithms for SOC, SOH, etc., design content for firmware upgrades (the pseudo-code) and verify the algorithms through testing and analysis.
- Conduct technical reviews, including DFMEA, risk assessments, and review of validation results.
- Participate in 8D and CAR activities as may be assigned.
- Participate in Reliability Governance Board and Change Control Board as needed.
- Other duties as required.
- Some travelling can be required.

- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Creative approach to problem-solving.
- Self-starter.
- Work experience with manufacturing and/or Service of electromechanical products and battery systems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, and preferably Norwegian.
- Demonstrated Electrical/Electronics troubleshooting experience.
- Able to read electrical and electronics schematics as well as mechanical drawings.
- Aptitudes with test equipment including oscilloscope, power supplies, data loggers, DC loads, hi-pot testers, etc.
Educational skills
- BSc Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent competence through experience.
