1 Manages the company's accounting services and processes. This Job Category includes accounting positions embedded in BUs, in Corporate Departments, and Financial Shared Services (FSS). (Note: FSS accounting leadership/managerial positions should not be mapped to this Job Category.)

Supports clients/customers and assists with functional projects under regular supervision. Has a general knowledge of the work group.

• Prepare Account Reconciliation of cash andcash equivalent accounts in full compliance with Chevron’s Account Reconciliation Standards
• Utilize FSS account reconciliation process to drive enhanced process quality, consistency and address weaknesses in internal control that can lead to financial incident.
• Performs monthly cash analysis to identify critical items that need to be adjusted before the books close
• Collaborate with key business partners (e.g. bank, treasury groups, other MSSC teams and Business Units) to identify, analyze and resolve reconciling items.
• Initiate discussions with key business partners to ensure front-end controls are in place that will prevent recurrence of issues and/or to address process inefficiencies.
• Propose miscellaneous journal entries for posting which include payment returns, bank service fees, interest, withholding taxes, and bank and book errors based on analysis of bank reconciliation statements
• Monitors and endorses long-outstanding checks for Unclaimed Property reporting
• Analyzes miscellaneous balance sheet accounts and clearance/transfer of balances to appropriate accounts as necessary.
• Timely, completely, and accurately submits Unclaimed Property Reports to various State Governments in the US
• Complies with State requirements on Due Diligence (sending of Search Letters)
• Liaises with source departments (FSS Cash and Bank, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Intercompany) for reissuance of payments to located payees or cancellations
• Coordinates with the Royalty Group in Houston for Royalty reissuances
• Reconciles the Unclaimed Property GL Account against Unclaimed Property system (TRACKER) balance
• Performs clean-up of vendor details data (name, address) in TRACKER system by comparing data in SAP master data and internet web search.
• Liaises with Excise Tax/UP Oversight Analyst (Pete Conrad) for state audit requirements and inquiries

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, and other Accounting related courses
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills
• Must have the propensity to work in a proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment
• Enjoys working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds

• Experience in S4 Hana is an advantage, but not required.
• Strong Accounts Payable background is preferred.
