Working for the Faculty of Nursing
A member of the College of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Nursing has 5 CASN accredited programs (BSc N: Collaborative Program, Bilingual Program, After Degree Program and Honors Program totalling 1441 students; and a Master of Nursing - Nursing Practitioner - Advanced Clinical Focus with a total of 97 students). Our partners include Faculté Saint-Jean, Red Deer Polytechnic, Keyano College (Fort Mc Murray) and Northwestern Polytechnic (Grande Prairie). Other master's programs include other streams within the MN (Leadership, Education, and Research), and the Nursing Ph D program with a total graduate student body of 201.
The Faculty of Nursing is ranked #1 in Western Canada and #7 in the world (QS World Rankings). The Faculty of Nursing leads transformational research to address complex global health challenges and to meet the health needs of diverse communities.
There are 35 Faculty, 92 Academic Teaching Staff (ATS), and 66 other employees (operating and research-funded). The Faculty of Nursing is located primarily in the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA).
Position
The Quality Assurance Coordinator (QAC), reports to the Vice-Dean with a dotted line report to the Director Quality Assurance. The position also works closely with the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs, the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, and the Administrative Council of the North Central Collaborative Program, and the BSc N Bilingual Program.
The QAC is primarily responsible for supporting the Faculty’s Quality Assurance program and participates in strategic planning which informs the Quality Assurance Team, the Undergraduate Office, the Graduate Office, the Office of the Dean and the BSc N Collaborative Partners as to how well the programs prepare students for their nursing careers.
The extent to which these goals of undergraduate and graduate programs are met is determined by the results of data found in the program evaluation. The QAC has the responsibility to ensure that this information is gathered and translated accordingly.
Duties

Quality Assurance Planning and Administration
- Plan and implement program evaluations for all Nursing programs across all regional sites.
- Analyze reports, maintain databases, and provide recommendations.
- Organize, facilitate and conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and agreements with survey providers.
- Advise faculty and act as a resource across various program topics.

Problem Solving and Communication
- Address issues from program evaluations and suggest solutions.
- Develop and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Prepare assessment reports and presentations for the Vice-Dean/Director QA.

Other Duties
- Support committees by creating agendas, reports, and documenting discussions.
- Coordinate QA activities and reporting with program partner representatives.
- Maintain accessibility of program evaluation records.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in sociology, psychology, health or science or other related degrees
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Advanced project management skills required
- Demonstrated strong qualitative and quantitative analysis knowledge and skills in overseeing and facilitating all program evaluations using products such as SPSS and Excel (for quantitative analysis) and Word (for qualitative analysis)
- Highly proficient with the Google Suite and Microsoft Suite
- Advanced knowledge of program evaluation and methodologies used to measure program performance over time with a strong background in the use of online survey tools and exceptional survey design skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required with the ability to tactfully, confidentially, and without bias, deal with sensitive data and student questions and concerns, both in person and in written feedback
- Demonstrated organizational, communication (verbal and written), analysis, facilitation and mediation skills required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and scholarly activity/interaction with others in similar roles
- Masters degree preferred
- Bilingual language abilities (French) preferred
- Project Management certificate
- Previous research experience in a program evaluation setting preferred
