R&D Assistant Taiwan

As a leader in cycling technology, we are known for our commitment to excellence and technological advancement. We are currently looking for a motivated R&D Assistant to join our dynamic team and support our product development efforts.
Job Description
As an R&D Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the product development process, working closely with our teams in Taiwan and the Netherlands. Your responsibilities include:
- Drawing and Mold Development: Oversee the entire process of drawing development, mold design, and testing to ensure precise execution.
- Optimization & Problem Solving: Continuously improve procedures and address any technical challenges that arise during the development process.
- Global Collaboration: Engage in direct communication with colleagues in Taiwan and the Netherlands to ensure smooth coordination and project alignment.
- Prototype Purchasing: Manage the acquisition of prototypes to support product testing and development.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of all project activities.
- Coating, Decals & Printing: Take charge of managing the coating, decals, and printing processes to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Project Management: Monitor key project milestones and ensure that all timelines are met.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to your team leader on project progress and any challenges encountered.
Optima Cycles develops and produces Dutch ID e-bikes and Lovens electric cargo bikes. In the Netherlands we have our sales, marketing, planning and assembly departments, in Taiwan we have our production and a wide network of suppliers. Our beautiful factory is located in the heart of Taiwan’s bicycle industry, Dajia District, where a proud local team works. Our Dutch owner lives and works in Taiwan. Both our team and our production capabilities are continuously growing. We foresee much more growth and expansion in the coming years. This puts our company in a very interesting phase.
Your Profile
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within an R&D or product development environment.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in using Solid Works for creating parts, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with international teams.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues in Taiwan and the Netherlands, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
