Te tūranga | The role:
As a Chapter Lead- Home Lending reporting to the Head of Home Lending Products, you will position ASB as a market leader in home lending while achieving outstanding business outcomes. Collaborating with leadership, you will focus on strategic planning and resource allocation to ensure best practices in product management. You will work across the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring continuous optimisation and competitiveness.

Your expertise will help develop strong product value propositions that resonate with customers and distribution channels. Your commercial acumen will be key to refining our strategies and informing management on portfolio performance. Building relationships with senior leadership will be essential as you communicate our product strategies.

You will maintain compliance and monitor best practices while scoping proposals for product transformation focused on customer and business outcomes. As a domain expert, you will provide insights across the bank and mentor your team of Senior Product Managers and Product Managers.

To be successful in this role, you will possess significant experience in product management within the financial services sector, demonstrating a proven ability to manage and implement product strategies and priorities effectively. A deep understanding of retail banking products, processes, policies, and supporting systems is essential.

You will bring curiosity, critical thinking, and a creative approach to problem-solving, allowing you to navigate challenges and drive results. A customer-centric mindset is crucial, along with the ability to influence senior leaders and achieve business outcomes. Your experience managing change across a diverse range of stakeholders will be invaluable, particularly in resolving competing demands and brokering solutions that align with commercial and risk imperatives.

You should embrace new ideas and be comfortable leading people through change, engaging effectively at senior leadership and executive levels. Your skills in preparing and presenting executive and board-level papers will be key to communicating our product strategies.

A solid understanding of the New Zealand regulatory and legislative environment related to financial services is important, as is a people-centred approach that fosters a learning and growth-oriented workplace. You will excel at empowering and recognizing your team, drawing out the best in individuals through your collaborative leadership style. As a true team player, you will build strong relationships that drive collective success.
