Senior Mobile Engineer - iOS

Join Westpac Mobile on our journey to modernize our apps and deliver an intuitive, beautiful customer experience. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with the product team to understand requirements, design solutions, and oversee the entire app development lifecycle—from design to delivery, including development, quality assurance, and deployment.
Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
  • Engineering Excellence: Work within our engineering teams to develop and deliver mobile application features.
  • Mentorship: Mentor fellow engineers to enhance their technical skills and improve team capabilities across various mobile technologies.
  • Quality Focus: Passionate about delivering high-quality applications by writing clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Modernization Advocate: Contribute to our modernisation efforts by refining code development, quality, and Dev Ops practices for mobile apps.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure our mobile apps meet testing and quality standards.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
  • You must have at least 8+ years of hands-on experience building mobile applications using Swift, and solid understanding of i OS app design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Swift UI and UIKit, with beneficial experience in Objective-C and Java.
  • Good knowledge of architectural design patterns such as MVVM and MVP, and proven experience ensuring modularised and scalable app architecture.
  • Solid understanding of quality engineering standards, mobile automation frameworks, and testing tools like XCTest and XCUITest.
  • Experience with Mobile Dev Ops tools (Fastlane, Gradle, Jenkins) and familiarity with cloud CI/CD products.
  • Understanding of Material UI, Apple Human Interface guidelines, and accessibility features.
  • Knowledge of retain cycles, reference types, GCD, Operation Queue, and structured concurrency.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
  • Proven experience in building complex systems in a team environment with a strong customer-focused attitude.
