IT Governance Specialist

Role Overview: As an IT Governance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that Hera Group’s IT operations and security initiatives comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal standards. You will work closely with internal teams to define, implement, and manage governance policies that align with our cybersecurity objectives and business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure governance policies are aligned with business goals and cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct regular IT audits and assessments to identify risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on IT governance metrics, providing actionable insights for improving processes.
- Ensure IT projects and initiatives are aligned with governance frameworks and that risks are effectively managed.
- Stay updated on the latest regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices in IT governance and cybersecurity.
- Train and educate staff on IT governance policies and procedures to promote a culture of compliance and security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT governance, IT compliance, or IT audit, preferably within the cybersecurity or IT industry.
- Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL) and relevant standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Experience with risk management, audit, and regulatory compliance in IT environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CGEIT) are a plus.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations in African markets is a strong advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R50 000,00 - R120 000,00 per month
