About you and this role

We have a great opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner (manufacturing) located in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.

As Supply Chain Planner, you are responsible to decide what, when and where to produce for one production site, multiple production sites in Europe or multiple plants at one site. It includes balancing supply and demand over a daily or monthly planning horizon, to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization and supply chain efficiencies.

In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.

It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

Time phased production planning over short and long term horizons – collaborating with stakeholders to successfully implement the plans;
Short term scheduling of production at the site, in line with processes and capacity constraints;
Raw material planning, working with Suppliers and Sourcing Team, plus other Dow sites to ensure a smooth supply of raw materials;
Leads, develops, decides, communicates and implements operational or tactical plans;
Develops plans to support life cycle changes eg. new item introductions and discontinuations;
Manages inventory levels to target expectations and customer service availability agreements;
Manages inefficient inventory, identifying and recording root causes and actions to mitigate;
Maintains strong linkages with Demand Manager and ensures full integration with Finance and Accounting
Assures most efficient use of systems, processes and technologies and maintains master data;
Monitors actual performance versus plan and engage cross-functional efforts to resolve;
Manages capacity challenges in your area of responsibility;
Supports global supply chain initiatives in cross area teams;
Drives continuous improvement .

Qualifications

Minimum a bachelor degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences
Two or more years of experience in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing environment
Competencies required for success in this job are: Strong communication skills, Interpersonal effectiveness, Analytical skills, Focus, Initiative, and Teamwork.
APICS CPIM Certification an advantage but not essential.
