Junior Community Coordinator – Special Projects & Tourism Organisations


Are you passionate about tourism, community engagement, and digital marketing? We’re looking for a Junior Community Coordinator to join the dynamic team at Aquila Collection, where you’ll work on special projects and partnerships with leading tourism organisations. Supported by an experienced digital and content team, this role is perfect for someone ready to grow their skills in a creative and fast-paced environment.


What You’ll Be Doing:


Membership and Partner Listing Updates

• Maintain and update listings on websites for special projects and partner organisations.
• Ensure all information is accurate and aligns with project goals and databases.

Monthly Newsletters & Partner Updates

• Assist in creating and distributing newsletters to members, partners, and stakeholders.
• Gather and curate content, images, and updates for newsletters.
• Share project-related updates and event details with relevant audiences.

Social Media Management

• Create, schedule, and monitor social media posts across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Linked In.
• Engage with online communities, responding to comments and sharing partner content.
• Tag and collaborate with partner organisations to enhance visibility.

Image Library Management

• Organise and maintain an image library for use in digital and print materials.
• Manage submissions from members, photographers, and project partners.

Event Support

• Design and distribute digital invitations for events and activities.
• Coordinate RSVPs and assist with event registration processes.
• Attend and support monthly events, such as industry luncheons, workshops, and special gatherings.

Project Support and Administration

• Attend planning meetings to contribute ideas and assist with strategy development.
• Support project leads with database updates, meeting minutes, and partner feedback.
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Website Content Updates

• Update website content with new articles, event details, and partner specials.
• Collaborate with an outsourced web developer to ensure websites are visually appealing and up to date.

What We’re Looking For:

• A passion for tourism and a keen interest in project management and digital marketing.
• Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with social media platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bonus Skills:

• Basic experience with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with the tourism industry, particularly in Cape Town or South Africa.
